Beer review: Three Notch’d Phenology Series: Batch Number 12

Double IPA, 8% ABV, 10 IBU

Presentation: can pour into Tumblr

Appearance: hazy, golden yellow, medium head

Taste: the packaging said notes of melon, strawberry and orange but I honestly only picked up on orange, and even that was subtle. I mostly tasted a piney bitterness.

Mouthfeel: smooth, soft, light bodied

Overall: it was just ok, I was hoping for more flavor and a little less bitterness

Rating:

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.

Beer review: Jam Pact Blueberry Gose

BenchTop Brewing, Norfok, VA

Presentation: can pour into tumblr

Appearance: dark red, semi-translucent

Taste: blueberry flavor is there but very subtle; mostly just get your typical gose tartness with a hint of sweetness

Mouthfeel & Body: soft, light bodied

Overall: This one was just ok; I had hoped for a more fruit-forward flavor but the blueberry notes were rather subdued.

Score:

Rating: 2.5 out of 5.
